Exact Pickup Spot
Here’s the simplest way to find it:
- At the start of Chapter 8, complete the mandatory fight that kicks off the area.
- After the fight, head toward the Ruined Highway Camp.
- Look for a small house/hut sitting by the highway, just a short distance south of the Ruined Highway Camp.
- Go inside the house — the Meat Omelette recipe book is sitting out in the open (usually on a table or shelf).
Alternate description:
From the beginning of the Crater Zone, follow the main road northeast. The book is inside the hut on the east side of the road right before you reach the campsite.
The book will also show up as a “BOOK” icon on your map when you get close.
How to Unlock the Recipe
- Pick up the recipe book.
- Return to the Cleanse Walker.
- Speak with Kagura and open the Cooking Research menu.
- Assign the Meat Omelette for research.
- Once she finishes researching it, the recipe becomes available.
Kagura can only research one recipe (or crop) at a time, so plan accordingly if you’re collecting several books.
What the Meat Omelette Unlocks
- Adds the Meat Omelette to Kagura’s cooking list.
- Gives permanent stat boosts when you eat it after resting until morning (HP, Attack, Defense, Skill Power, or Critical Rate depending on quality).
- The first time you eat any new dish, you get a stronger “first-time” bonus.
- Counts toward the Gourmand trophy/achievement (requires every recipe book in the game).
Quick Tips
- Higher-tier versions (Superior and Ultimate) become available later once you improve the Cleanse Walker’s Calculations stat and finish researching the previous tier.
- Make sure you have a steady supply of meat and eggs so Kagura can actually cook the dish once it’s unlocked.
- Missed recipe books can still be collected in free-roam after the story.
That’s everything you need to grab the Meat Omelette recipe in the Crater Zone and start using its permanent buffs. Happy hunting out there.
