The Holloway Manor is the standalone side mission/DLC (included with Premium Edition or available separately). Completing it rewards the Bucking Bronco revolver (usable in the main game) plus attachments.
The Occult Key is obtained by solving the candle/séance puzzle. This key opens two chests that contain upgrades for the Bucking Bronco revolver.
How to Solve the Candle Occult (Séance) Puzzle
- Locate the séance/candle puzzle area inside Holloway Manor (it involves a set of candle holders with Roman numerals and a spot for a portrait).
- The solution is based on the year of Catherine Holloway’s death: 1750.
- Arrange the candles according to the Roman numerals for 1750:
- I (1)
- VII (7)
- V (5)
- 0 (or the final position representing the zero in 1750)
- Place the candles by size:
- Smallest candle → on the I
- Next size up → on the VII
- Continue increasing size for the remaining positions (V and 0)
- Place Catherine Holloway’s portrait in the middle of the arrangement.
Once correctly set, the puzzle solves and you receive the Occult Key.
What the Occult Key Does
Use the Occult Key on the two related chests in the manor. These contain the revolver upgrades (Kane’s Hefty Barrel and Kane’s Wrapped Grip attachments, plus related rewards).
Quick Tips
- Look for notes or documents in the manor that mention Catherine Holloway and her death year (1750) — these confirm the solution if you prefer to figure it out yourself.
- The puzzle is optional for finishing the mission and getting the base Bucking Bronco, but required for the full upgrades.
- Explore thoroughly: the manor has interlocking rooms, other keys (Boiler Room Key, Museum Key, etc.), and multiple collectibles.
This is one of the key optional puzzles in the DLC for maxing out the revolver reward. Once done, finish the rest of the Holloway Manor investigation to claim everything and return to the main game with your new gear.
