NTE The Guide Location and Uses Explained: How to Unlock The Guide in Neverness to Everness

NTE The Guide Location

Neverness to Everness (NTE) players searching for better loot and hidden treasures should prioritize unlocking The Guide. This handy anomaly companion points toward nearby collectibles, making exploration far more efficient across Hethereau.

What is The Guide in Neverness to Everness?

The Guide is an S-Rank important item/anomaly companion in NTE. Once summoned, it acts like a living compass that highlights the direction of nearby treasures, character enhancement materials, furniture, and other collectibles.

It does not detect Oracle Stones or certain shop items, but it excels at revealing hidden loot in alleys and buildings.

How to Unlock The Guide – Step-by-Step

The Guide ties into the Lonely Player / Wandering Puppets Anomaly Commission at Clement Academy in Illusion Town.

  1. Reach Clement Academy
Head to Illusion Town (northern Hethereau). The main gate is often blocked — climb the fence on the side or use nearby objects to jump over.
  2. Find the Troubled/Irritated Student
Go to the big playground or sports field area behind the academy (best around 8 AM in-game time). Speak to the student next to the anomaly called The Guide. She is frustrated because the anomaly isn’t helping her find the Occult Club.
  3. Escort the Student
Offer to show her the way. Lead her to the Occult Research Club room (second building on the right with stairs, usually the fourth room inside, marked by a purple rug or blue magic circle).
  4. Complete the Handover
Talk to her again at the clubroom. Return to the original playground spot and speak with the anomaly. You will receive The Guide as a reward.

Pro Tip: You can combine this with the Cheese Camera quest from the Occult Club Student for maximum efficiency during the same visit.

How to Use The Guide in NTE

  • Assign The Guide to your quick-access shortcut bar from the Important Items inventory.
  • Activate it (T on PC or equivalent) to summon the companion.
  • Follow the direction the hand/orb points. It updates dynamically as you move.
  • It has a ~60-second cooldown and lasts briefly, so move quickly toward the indicated loot.

Use it while exploring back alleys, schools, and dense urban areas for materials like First Expectations, furniture, and more.

Why The Guide is Worth Unlocking Early

  • Saves massive time hunting hidden items and chests.
  • Essential for completing exploration commissions and furnishing your properties.
  • Pairs perfectly with other tools like Cheese Camera and Empathy Eye Drops in school anomalies.
